 We all have a natural instinct to give;

we all have a natural instinct not to give;

and we all have the freedom to choose.

 True generosity is not stationary,

but walks about from place to place.

 Whoever approaches you walking,

come to them running.

If giving is silver, then persistent giving is gold.

Generosity is the active implementation of beliefs.

Chinese Proverb

If you want one year of prosperity,

grow grain.

If you want ten years of prosperity, grow trees.

If you want 100 years of prosperity, grow people.

The only way to learn about generosity is to start giving.

We are what we repeatedly do.

Generosity, therefore, is not an act but a habit.

The generosity planned for tomorrow doesn't count for today.

 Never suppress generous impulse.

Generosity is like a 12 - speed bicycle - some of us have gears we never use.

Generosity is not only something you feel.

It's something you do.

If you wish to do good to another you must do it in minute particulars.

Close the gap between your generous intentions and your actions.

Generosity is like a roller coaster.

Once you have completed the ride,

you want to do it again.

Cultivate generosity by arranging your life so that more giving will be likely.

You are born to give and not to prepare to give.

Gifts only come into being at the moment when they are given.

If someone takes your coat, give him your clock as well; if he makes you go a mile with him, go with him two.

Whenever you see someone in distress, don't pity them - relieve them of their burden.

The smallest act of kindness is worth more than the grandest intention.

There is substitute for speaking your

mind  - be generous with your honesty.

A kind word is like a spring day.

Generosity is a beautiful poem without words.

Food for thought by George Eliot.

 What do we live for,

If it is not to make life less difficult for each other?

If someone planted an acorn in front of your house for every kind word you ever spoke and chopped down a tree for every unkind word,

would your garden be a Forest or a desert?

 Grudge - giving says, " I must."

Duty - giving says,"I should."

Thanks - giving says, "I want to. "

 Generosity in words creates confidence,

Generosity in thinking creates depth, but generosity in feeling creates love.

The fewest words are worthwhile if they are filled with generosity.

See if you can give yourself gifts such as

self - acceptance or sitting quietly without feeling the need to say anything.

Avoid flattery; it is not a gift since it corrupts both the receiver and the giver.

 The more sympathy you give,

the less you need.

Intelligent people are comfortable about sharing their thoughts,

Because they know that they have plenty more in their head.

Always remember there are certain people who set their watches by your clock.

All people give in the same language.

Any excuse for generosity is good enough.

The world would be a happier place if we all learned to use these four simple words:

"This is for you."

The generous person let's others do the talking.

Speak in the belief that what you say makes a difference. It does.

Food for thought

It is no coincidence that when giving to someone we say,

"Here" because we are truly living in the present and making full use of that moment.

Food for thought

If you can develop a keen awareness of the interdependence of all living things you will soon understand why generosity helps all humanity.

Food for thought

One more good person on earth is better than an extra angel in heaven.

Food for thought by Bhagavad Gita

Out of compassion I destroy the darkness of ignorance.

From within them I light the lamp of wisdom and display all darkness from their lives.

 Generosity is contagious.

Start an epidemic today.

Food for thought by Wyne Dyer.

 You are always a valuable,

Worthwhile human being - not because anybody says so,

Not because you are successful,

Not because you make a lot of money - but because you decide to believe it.

The farmer and the serpent

There once lived a poor farmer in a small village.

The village had been affected by drought for three years.

The farmer's land had dried up.

The winter had set in.

One chilly evening, the farmer was resting under a tree in his land.

As he looked around, he saw a serpent sitting by a burrow.

"The serpent lives here," thought the farmer.

" But I have never seen it so I can be a friend.

That is why my land has dried up during the drought.

Henceforth, I will become a friend to this serpent regularly."

The farmer ran home and brought some milk.

He placed the vessel of milk in front of the burrow and said, "O my friend! I did not know that you live here.

Please forgive me.

But now I promise to be your friend always and also feed you every day."

Saying this, the farmer offered milk to the serpent and went home.

When he returned to his land the next morning, he saw something shining in the vessel!

From that day, every day the, the farmer would offer milk to the serpent and get a good coin in return!

One day, the farmer had to go to another village for some work.

He asked his son to offer milk to the serpent every day.

That evening, the son went to the serpent to offer some milk.

When he returned there the next morning, he saw a gold coin in the vessel!

The son thought, "This serpent is very stingy.

I am sure there are countless gold coins in its burrow.

Yet it gives only one gold coin every day.

If I kill this serpent, I will get all the gold coins at once."

The next day, when the son went to offer milk to the serpent, he hit it on it's head with a stick.

The serpent was furious.

It bit the farmer's son and killed him.

The serpent, too, was injured badly on it's head.

Writhing in in pain, it slithered slowly into it's burrow.

The farmer's relatives performed the funeral rites of the farmer's son.

When the farmer returned home, he was shocked to hear about the death of his son.

He was angry with the serpent.

But when the serpent told him what had actually happened, the farmer said, "O serpent ! I know it was my son's fault.

I apologize on his behalf."

The farmer then offered some milk to the serpent and again said,

"Please forgive my son."

The serpent said, "Look at the funeral pyre of your son and look at

Food for thought by Vince Lombardi.

"Once a man has made a commitment to a way of life, he puts the greatest strength in the world behind him.

It's something we call heart power.

Once a man has made this commitment, nothing will stop him short of success. "
